DII Report: DII baseball fall report — The CCAA
Let's head back to the Wild West and take a look at the always deep CCAA.
We head back to the West Region this week in the latest DII Report. We still have quite a few left, but all should be filed before the start of the season. That means now’s your chance to get caught up on the ones you missed.

Now onto the CCAA.
CCAA facts to know
Cal State Monterey Bay led the conference in hitting, its .324 mark ranked No. 26 in DII. Four of the Otters’ top 5 hitters — Cole Murchison (.357), Jaden Sheppard (.355), KW Quilici (.349), and Sergio Solis (.349) — are back in 2025.
The Otters also led the conference in runs scored (446), home runs (70) and RBI (411).
Some of the CCAA’s best home run hitters from a season ago are back: Shepperd was tied with San Francisco State’s Justin Johnson for second in the conference with 15, and Johnny Pappas of Cal Poly Pomona and Quilici were in the top 10 with 11.
Cal Poly Pomona led the conference in ERA (4.76) and batting average against (.266). The Broncos had a ton of turnover in the rotation — including two-time CCAA pitcher of the year Caleb Reyes — but return a strong bullpen.
Cal State Moneterey Bay has won the last two CCAA tournaments. Prior to that, Cal Poly Pomona went back to back… kind of: The Bronchos won in 2019 and 2022 as there was no CCAA baseball in 2020 or 2021 due to Covid-19.
