Another week down means it’s time for another DII Report fall report. If you are just joining, you have already missed the SSC, LSC, and PSAC (links to all three are below), so be sure to subscribe and get caught up.
Today we head to the MIAA, also known as Mules Country. The Mules are coming off their second trip to Cary in four seasons and have been no strangers to DII baseball’s mecca since head coach Kyle Crookes took over.
“It's hard getting to Cary,” Crookes said. “So many good teams and so much parity. It's incredibly fun to be there because it's the realization of all the work that a special group of people have been putting in for years on years.
“There’s no real secret I don't think — great people that are great players in our uniform working towards being their best. We've been blessed with great people like [assistant coach/recruiting coordinator] Alex Backhaus here which provide continuity for our players (and me) and a constant push toward their best. Players will always be the reason, and I think more than ever there is talent at our level to rival any. The MIAA makes it tough and prepares teams for postseason play as well.”
